State motto: hey, the USA is finished (Canada 'll be a LOT easier).

Legal to WALK on Wyoming interstates but not to "thumbsignal".
Cheap & clean motel in Cheyenne on 'Lincolnway' ACROSS the STREET from the hitchin' post in (near JCT of I-25 & I-80).
GOOD EXITS:
Little America (I-80 westbound Cheyenne)
Flying J (southbound I-25 Cheyenne)
ROCK SPRINGS (I-80 both directions)
EVANSTON (ditto)(Wyoming Downs racetrack exit)
Kind of a hard exit due to the nearby prison, but you will eventually get out: (Rawlins)
Hey, at least there is a 7-11 on the ramp...
Note: a company headquartered in a small town called 'Labarge' hires people to assist in the seismic exploration of oilfields. This job is called being a 'juggie', it pays about 6-10 dollars an hour + room & board. You need to be able to operate a vehicle but not necessarily licensed as most is offroad.
And able to stand the cold.
They never answer their phone so I recommend just going up there and asking around...
Labarge is on U.S. 191 north of I-80 about 100 miles. 191 is kinda lonely so take food, water & camping gear.
It's also a pretty vicous weather area so keep your eyes on the sky - it may take you a day or so to get up there.
(I don't really recommend signs but for a short trip like this one a sign saying Labarge is ideal due to the low traffic flow).
If you get the job I'd like to know about it. Write me w / details at the link below. I've talked to people who say it pays Ok and isn't especially hard but is kinda lonely...
