S.Carolina rents are 10% higher than metro Atlanta or Charlotte or even PHX AZ.
Utilities are TWICE what they are in most towns thanx to S.C. G&E's monopoly.
And they EVEN befoul the bus system in Columbia...(the only system in a town it's size WORSE than PHX AZ - and that takes doin' folks.]
When DENTON, TX has a better bus system than you, your bus system is F#$%ed uP!

Another S.C. ripoff - video poker machines that don't pay out unless you rack up 10.00 or more...
I say if I put in a quarter and hit a full house I want my 3 dollars DAMMMIT!
That's why it's called "gambling", cuz when you WIN you're supposed to WIN!

And lets not forget assorted cheapskate Myrtle Beach merchants that charge 20 dollars for t-shirts and hire people for 3 dollars an hour...

One good bar in SC is in "Columbia" in the 5 points neighborhood it's called "Yesterday's", they have Guiness for 13.00 a pitcher. The nearby Circle K pays on all wins on their video-poker machine...

It's illegal to walk on the interstate in S.C. & to complicate matters furthur, S.C. sells beer 24 hrs a day 6 days a week so you hafta watch out for drunk drivers - see, the bus just DON'T GO THERE so people get blitzed and drive home.

S.Carolina based co's to boycott: Hardee's/Denny's/Quincy's (union busting and a mgmt culture of disrespect).
I have heard more than one story in different towns of managers of the above restaurants skimming tips/stealing purses/etc, and I was fired from Quincy's cuz I caught the mgr of my store in flagrante delicto w/my roommmate in MY HOUSE!
(His wife was pregnant, tooo!)
+ they serve mr. pibb cheapskates...

A place I forgot to mention in N.Carolina but w/in 60 miles of Columbia: INFINITY's END headshop, best one in Charlotte/Columbia metro area...(along I-77 in Charlotte).

MAJOR CONCERT VENUES: football stadium in Columbia (ez to get to) & football stadium in CLEMSON (hard to get to)(along I-85) nine miles west of the interstate - Outback Steakhouse exit.

Coolness "O" (it would be higher if there were higher paying jobs available...)
avg crossing times:
I-85 N.C. to GA 3-4 hrs.
I-26 Charleston to Columbia 3-4 hrs, to Augusta GA 4-6, to Atlanta 6 - 8.
I-77 to Charlotte 2-3 hrs.
FROM Charlotte 1 hr...
Coastal route thru Myrtle Beach from N.C. 4-6 hrs.
Down I-95 to Savannah GA 6-10 hrs.
I-95 to Myrtle Beach on side roads 6-10 hrs.

Got a ride w/ a S.L.E.D. cop to 'Conway' (a Myrtle Beach suburb) once from 'Marion'.
That was cool...
