Alright, so anyhoo, I got stuck in Merkle overnite & was unable to make D.C. - no big deal I think - I should make Philly and here's why I didn't: got dropped off in 'New Castle' IN by a friendly fella who picked me up at 'Post Road'.

(Before I go any furthur w/this I would like to point out that down near 'Muncie' on I-69 (a college town) I received over !5! 'one -finger salutes' from passing kids...)
Muncie is north of Deer Creek...admitedly I was trying to get a rise out of Kenny on dnc w/the Deer Creek thing - but objective accomplished; I'm dropping it...(I STILL maintain the opinion that most damage at GD 95 D. Creek was done BY LOCALS (and the salutes I received seemed to prove me right...)

I got picked up by a (real big & real MALE) truck driver wearing a green chintz dress, heels, and nice lace stockings - He says he's going to Bridgeport, Ohio (near Wheeling). I'm like 'ok whatever'. He instead drops me off at the pilot on exit 10 on I-70 (180 miles or so WEST of W.Va...then 5 minutes later walks down the on - ramp and accuses me of taking money and you don't wanna know what else out of the cab - I'm thinking great, I'm gnona get the Sh*t beat out of me by a 6'4" drag queen who is obviously a tad wacked out.

And he's right: nobody's gonna believe it - all for something I didn't do...

I start screaming *HELP* etc, two cops passin' by don't stop (not that I blame em - finally a driver for 'Delta Express' pulls over and calms the guy down.
45 minutes later the message comes over the radio...I found it...
So the guy in the truck says I'm going to Wheeling - & I was gonna give you aride anyhoo - well 30 miles down the road on the darkest exit in Ohio - natch HIS REAL MOTIVATION is revealed (I woulda had a better time w/the drag queen - so put out for not putting out as they call it).

NOW; the drag queen I at least know what I was dealing with - as for the closet case: he COULD HAVE SAID AT THE LIT EXIT WHERE I HAD A BETTER CHANCE OF GETTING OUT OF THERE IN A TIMELY FASHION WHAT HE WAS UP TO INSTEAD OF TAKING ME TO AN UNLIT ONE OR HE COULD HAVE BEEN A DECENT GUY AND GIVEN ME THE LIFT TO WHEELING ANYHOO INSTEAD OFF MAKING IT HARDER TO REACH MY DESTINATION...

NOW the gory details: I used the northwest extension out of Philly (it took a day from out by the the Plymouth Meeting Mall (it take s a LONG time to get out of Philly in any way...)
But an endorsement: Carlo's Pizza on the Lansdale exit - decent cheesesteaks - wings, pizza, draft dr.p.
Rob ate there 4 times in 24 hrs...

Went to I-84 traveled it thru Scranton - hi axomoxooa - Port Jervis- Newburgh and then the NYS thru way to KINGSTON "net access!" near interstate too!

Made it to albany - 4 WINDS BLOWING AT ONCE! - got a ride to exit 11 which is a mere 6 mile from EXIT 12 (the GOOD ONE).
Damn near froze to death - I've never been so cold in my life! and I've been to Flagstaff!
Albany advice: if you can't get to exit 12 (by the toll booth) don't go (tho the CDTA bus goes over exit 11 for the foolhardy) and there's a laundromat there...(NOTHING ON 12) but still a better spot.
