Wild Times Come Full Circle

Short / sweet: leaving the Chicago Fish show rob made it down to Springfield, Illinois where he:
A: got a ride w/a state trooper to a good I-55 exit (for St Louis) and
B: the trooper bought an ankle bell for a female friend (go figger)
Anyhoo ez way across St Louis: light ril to 3134 bus to mid Reivers mall (334 also works but not as fast) east thru Knasa, get ride from Manhattn to Colby with aks epa agent doing groundwater inspections...off thru F.Collins and up to MISSOULA, Montana (where rob discovers the rather disturbing combination of no speed limit and being able to walk on the highway).

Anyhoo into Olympia (late for the show - the next two weeks motto) rob gets in a fight with tweakers from MYRTLE Creek (near Ashland).
Rob asks the am/pm guy - hey is Mytrle Creek renowned for speed? He says - 'Myrle Crank'? You betcha...anyway down to SF.

Miss 3 shows and then back out east where just past Denver some clown w/ AZ lic #: P603-XN tries to steal my stuff at gas station. Araphoe County cops chase him 30 miles and cuff'n stuff.
Anyhoo, none the worse for wear, rob goes to the AMES show (courtesy of a teleportation aid who shall rename mainless).
Hint: Kearny, MO is a good northbound I-35 exit leaving Ames, IA up I-35 to US 20 thru WATERLOO and Dubuque to us 151 to MADISON, Wisconsin where rob attended the ZERO show in Middleton at Club Tavern and then the Leftover Salmon show at Barrymore Theatre.
(Note to deadheads: Robert Hunter will play there on Sep 26, take the B bus to Barrymore...)
This message is being composed using LYNX in the Madison library (near the legendary Buck's Tavern) ya right...

Next destination: (barring unforeseen circumstances):
Zen decison: Widspread Panic in S.Bend, IN (2nite)
or Marillion in Milwaukee (tomorrow).

Whoops; forgot to mention the interesting concept of hitching in MT with no limit and of course the requisite tweakers in Ahsland, OR, the closet case in Laramie and of course the two idiots that tried to steal my stuff outside Denver at the Airpark Rd Barn store on I-70 whom were caught on tape and promptly chased 30 miles and cuffed and stuffed by the ARAPAHOE County Sheriffs Dept!..

Message composed using LYNX at the main Madison library:
Deadhead note Robert Hunter Barrymore Theatre: take # 'b' bus...saw Leftover Salmon there last night (and ZERO @ Club Tavern in Middleton (neighboring town) END...

OH, yeah, Rural Iowa

US 20 from I-35 to Dubuque , while I DID make it to Madison on time I don't recommend it...the city of WATERLOO is an 11 mile walk from tip-to-tip and situated in a way that you don't get rides 'til you are way out in the country, I'm not slamming the people, I'm just noting the diifficulty due to the weird infrastructure...

Who NOT to ride with in southern Oregon (Oregon update)

77 Pontiac, Oregon license #: SBN-246 (btw/ rob knows the owner of the car's name if anybody has a legitimate interest in knowing...e-mail rob the details and a REASON why) IHMO the individauls are quite dangerous (speed freaks...)

CALIFORNIA hills'n'woods update
So rob went to the SISKIYOU County library in MT Shasta, which has a 'metered' internet policy - you sign up then pay $ 1.00 for every 30 minutes you use. They only have one terminal, well this uses a key...and I sweartagod I didn't know I took the key until I was 100 miles south in REDDING and any ways I phoned them and left a message...
I got to WEAVERVILLe (CA 299) when I got picked up by 'Raptor' who lives in Mcloud (a Mt Shasta suburb, and whose wife is a volunteer at the MT Shasta library...)
BOY I hope they had a spare....(anyway Raptor promised to see that they were returned ASAP...)

Hey - like I told the Weaverville librarian: hey we're all neighbors up north right???

I ALMOST went to see Missing Man Formation at the Hog Farm 'no dog pig noc but decided to see ZERO at the Sausalito Arts Fest instead (both bands have the same guitarist BTW ;-)...besides 's a lil easier to get out of Marin Tuesday morning than it is Laytonville.

Got treated to a BLACK HAWK STOUT (by the MENDOCINO Brewing Co themselves!) in HOPLAND (on US 101 -south of Ukiah) their website is:
mendobrew.com...

Where else but the north woods can he hear freaks and jocks talking 'bout playing golf together on saturdaze...

Got a CRAZY ride to Rohnert Park from Hopland (mostly harmless but DEFINITELY tetched...) dude was hearing radio broadcasts in his head and had an orange wristband on the gearshift but I digress...
UNTIL NEXT TIME...and quite possibly a review of the Sausalito Arts Festival...

P.S. MONTANA was interesting but ?75! cents?? for the daily Billings Gazette???? (I've read it - it aint worth 75 cents.
;-)
