OK to walk on interstate, don't go beyond the last exit in the direction of travel because it's looooonely and you don't want to get caught in a whiteout should one come up.

Takes a while to GET a ride but you generally get all the way to Montana or Minnesota - from Fargo/Moorehead - free coffee available in the Fargo-Moorehead tourist bureau across from the Petro truckstop on the west side of town...
