I'm not makin' that up, in 1993 no dentists would do business in Sedalia 'cuz they just could not make a living...I dunno about nowadays

ANYHOO - The relevant stuff:
There isn't really any prohibition against walking on the interstate in Missouri except city ordinaces in K.City & St.Louis city limits.

! KANSAS CITY COPS ARE NOTORIOUSLY CORRUPT.
If and when you get to "BLUE SPRINGS/Independence" on the east side or Liberty on the north side, KISS THE GROUND - you PROBABLY narrowly escaped getting beaten or robbed by the cops...

2ndly, on the St.Louis side of the state the city bus does go over to Illinois, but it dumps you off in E. St.Louis - you might as well hitch from the Riverport Ampitheatre area and go by zen - just take whatever ride get's you closet to the outskirts of town in the direction you're going...

GOOD PLACES OTHERWISE: COLUMBIA (home of Faroux Field - an occasional concert venue...) plus they have citybuses that run on soybean oil based diesel fuel - check it out!
And inside Columbia city limits ONLY beer & soda bottles have a 5 cent bounty.
Hey 40 beer cans = free lunch at Quik Trip

ANOTHER GOOD SPOT for travel on I-70: KINGDOM CITY ON RAMP
I-44 spots: "Fenton", and the town with the all you can eat bbq billboard somewhere near the Oklahoma border.
THE town is *SPRINGFIELD* the BBQ joint is near a Wal-mart and a Quik Trip (OF COURSE...)

FUN FACT: MISSOURI WELCOME CENTER/REST AREAS ON STATE LINE GIVE AWAY - you guessed it - *FREE* COCA-COLA when you sign the guestbook...

CLOSET CASE W/BROKEN FINGERS WAS LAST SEEN IN A BLACK SPORT UTILITY VEHICLE NEAR JOPLIN IN 1989 (JABBA THE HUTT LOOK A LIKE OF COURSE), still at large probly so do be careful in the Joplin/Tulsa area...(He musta slammed his hand in the tailgate or somethin, huh? Anyway, that's MY story and I'm stickin to it..;)
