NO, I haven't been there but the RUMOUR on how to "hitchike to Hawaii" is as follows:

1: Go to Sailors Union of the Pacific World headquarters at 450 Harrison St. and get a Merchant Marine union card - $35.00. (The SUP Hall at nite is called Maritime Hall - it's where they hold concerts.)

2: Go to Long Beach and look for a ship heading to Honolulu to book work passage on.

I e-mailed sailors@iww.org for info but was told "does not like host" by the q-mail program at hotmail.
